Mark Leckey’s eclectic practice stands at the intersection of popular culture and counterculture, merging youth, music, nostalgia, social class, and the history of Britain. Belonging to a generation of Young British Artists — a movement created in London in the 1980s — the multi-disciplinarian explores the idea of the artist’s place in society. The exhibit reveals Mark Leckey’s own take on Felix the Cat with an oversized inflatable figure depicting the cartoon character as well as a video installation featuring gigantic speaker walls.
